Our goal is to provide you with the direct opportunity to help one family or village with one project. We will scout out a choice of small projects that you can finance totally or as part of a team of donors. Each charity project will be photographed, before and after, and added to our My Special Donation web pages along with the names of the donors who made the project possible. We will provide the families with your picture and a printout of your well wishes for them and their future. Believe me, they will cherish your picture and kind words and picture while knowing there is someone out there who cares about their situation.
Water Projects-This monastery is run by several monks. The head monk is 31 years old. He supplies food and shelter for about 125 people including 15 families with varying needs. When asked what we could do to help his only request was a water pump and tank.
The source of water is a well that has been there for years. The water level is about 18 feet below ground level. All water is brought up by hand by buckets.
The simple addition of a water pump would allow them to have Running Water and Showers. Can you even imagine of not having running water? If you were making the average of $2 - $3 per day, as they are, it would be more understandable. Here are a few pictures monks & people who live there.
